The Romanian Academy has celebrated the 90th birthday of the venerable Professor Vasile Stănescu
Wednesday, 15 April 2015, the Scientists’ House of the Romanian Academy hosted a special event: the Romanian Academy has celebrated the 90th birthday of the venerable Professor Vasile Stănescu, an Honorary Member, well-known for his real vocation for spreading knowledge.
The special event was officially opened by Academician Ionel Valentin VLAD, President of the Romanian Academy, who gave the floor to Academician Cristian HERA, Vice President of the Romanian Academy (both Members of the Presidium of the Romanian Academy spoke warmly of Professor’s life and work, his dynamic personality, his dedicated soul, his rectitude, which have created a symbol that inspires all of us), and other distinguished speakers (who also shared their thoughts and ideas on this special occasion) such as: Academician Aurel IANCU; Ioan CHELARU, President of the Union of Jurists of Romania, and Vice President of the Senate of Romania; Gheorghe ZAMAN, Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy (Director of IEN, President of AGER, President of the Scientific Council of SSMAR, and Chairman of the Group of Experts of the Romanian Distribution Committee); Ion DOGARU, Corresponding Member of the Romanian Academy; Mircea DUŢU, Director of “Acad. Andrei Rădulescu” Legal Research Institute of the Romanian Academy; Academician Iulian VĂCĂREL.
It is worth to mention that the Romanian Distribution Committee awarded the Diploma of Honorary Member to venerable Professor Vasile Stănescu, for his tireless work to constantly promote a platform for an academic and civic dialog structured for a common understanding walking on the path towards freedom, reconfirming his indubitable conviction that the therapist is within us, in our world’s capacity to find again its sense, capacity to create and build, to love and dream.
