The President of the Romanian Competition Council, Bogdan M. CHIRITOIU opened the works of the first meeting of the Consultative Council, on 21st April 2010, by approaching in an open, coherent and pertinent way, the imperative of a proper strategic approach designed to face the pressure of meeting the actual challenges in the effective implementation of the competition policy and in promoting the competition culture,
taking into account the well-known two major dimensions of the Romanian Competition Council as an autonomous administrative body.
The interactive discussions carried out offered the opportunity to provide a pragmatic exchange of views between Bogdan M. CHIRITOIU, Florin POGONARU, Theodor Valentin PURCAREA, Gheorghe OPRESCU, Mihai BERINDE, Tatiana MOSTEANU, Sorin MINDRUTESCU, Shachar SHAINE, Mihai GIUGARIU, Sorin DAVID, Alexe GAVRILA, Otilian NEAGOE, Valentin MIRCEA and others.
Special guests, Ales MUSIL – Head of Unit, European Competition Network, Directorate-General for Competition, European Commission, Theodor THANNER – Director General, Federal Competition Authority, Republic of Austria, and Natalie HARSDORF ENDERNDORF, Federal Competition Authority, Republic of Austria, brought their contribution in the second part of the meeting, by acknowledging and saluting the team spirit that subsisted between the participants of the meeting in approaching the actual challenges.
This first meeting of the Romanian Competition Council was a real opportunity to share ideas on competition policy and to receive feedback on these ideas and policy visions within an open and rich exchange of views at the level of the so-called competition family.
