On the 5th of October, two years ago (Link 1) ION SMEDESCU, Founding Rector of the Romanian-American Uuniversity (the Romanian-American University received in 2010 – as a result of the evaluation of the educational process’ quality conducted by the Romanian Agency for Quality Assurance in Higher Education – the mark High Degree of Confidence) and Founder of the Church in his native village Cernişoara passed away.
Ancestral lamp carrier and keeper of the Romanian spirituality, Ion Smedescu has always done what he thought best and without experiencing any fear, his intuition giving birth to the Romanian – American University, a great service provided to the future generations (Link 2). Professor Ion Smedescu widely opened up the gates of knowledge management and innovation Link 3), promoting strategic young human resources to key positions in order to increase the quality of educational services and generating an intra-institutional quality culture within the Romanian- American University (Link 4). He lived with intensity, making a constant and coherent effort to transpose in the academic landscape powerful ideas specific to the „cultural arhitect” that is his beloved „Marketing”, advocating „intelligent growth” (Link 5). In December 2004 he was mentioned in the Diplomatic Gazette, Brussels.
Former student of the „Christian love Theologian” – Father Staniloaie, Ion Smedescu often mentioned him, speaking of the misterious beauty of a wonderful landscape and the necessity of the conscious sens of the ordinance, of the beauty, in order to perform a task the right way, in joyful communion. As Father Staniloaie, Ion Smedescu chose the same day, the 5th of October (1993, namely 2008), to step on the path of eternity. All those who knew Ion Smedescu miss his bright face, full of dignity, with that specific charm pertaining to the work and sacrifice model which gives you the feeling that he belongs to everyone.
